Skyrexio Now Supports Regional Exchange Accounts (EU, US & More)
Europe’s crypto market is changing fast. With the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework now in force, global exchanges are moving European users onto dedicated, locally-regulated entities — and in some cases, such as Binance winding down parts of its European Economic Area (EEA) operations, stepping back from segments of the region altogether.
For active traders, this creates a very practical problem: your API keys. A key issued by a regional entity — OKX’s EEA platform or Bybit’s Netherlands-regulated entity, for example — simply does not exist on the global www.exchange.com domain. Connect it to a platform that only talks to the global host and you are met with a frustrating “API key doesn’t exist” error.
Skyrexio now supports regional exchange accounts. When you connect an exchange, Skyrexio automatically detects which regional entity your API key belongs to and routes every request to the correct regulated host — with no extra configuration on your side.
What MiCA changed — and why your API key stopped working
MiCA gives crypto a single rulebook across the EU, and to comply, exchanges increasingly serve European customers through separate legal entities with their own infrastructure. In practice that means a separate API host: your account, your keys and your orders live on a regulated regional domain rather than the global one.
The catch is that an API key is valid on exactly one of these hosts. A key created on a regional entity authenticates only against that entity’s servers. Tools that assume every key belongs to the global domain cannot see it — which is why a perfectly valid key can return an “invalid” or “does not exist” response.
Which regional exchanges Skyrexio supports
Regional routing is live for five exchanges. Each is detected automatically the moment you connect or update your API keys:
- OKX — Global, EU (EEA) and US, for both spot and futures.
- Bybit — Global, plus its regional entities: EU (Netherlands), Turkey, Kazakhstan, Georgia, the UAE and Indonesia — for both spot and futures.
- KuCoin — Global, EU and Turkey (spot).
- Gate.io — Global, US and EU (spot).
- Binance — Global and US (Binance.US, spot).
If your account lives on one of these regulated entities, Skyrexio connects it exactly like a standard account — your balances, bots and trades all behave the same way.
How automatic regional detection works
You don’t pick a region from a dropdown, and you don’t paste in a custom URL. When you add or update keys, Skyrexio tries the exchange’s global host first; if your key isn’t recognised there, it securely checks the supported regional hosts until it finds the one your key belongs to. The matched region is then remembered for every future request — balance updates, order placement and position tracking all go to the right host.
Your API keys are stored encrypted and are only ever used to talk to your exchange. Regional support changes where Skyrexio sends a request, never how your keys are secured.
How to connect a regional exchange account
- Create API keys on your regional exchange entity (for example, the OKX EEA platform, your Bybit EU/Netherlands account, or Gate.io’s EU site).
- In Skyrexio, open the exchange connection screen and paste your key, secret and — where the exchange requires it — your passphrase.
- That’s it. Skyrexio detects the region automatically and begins syncing your balance within seconds.
Already connected a global account and later moved to a regional entity? Just update your API keys — detection runs again on every update.
Trade on, wherever you’re regulated
Regulation is reshaping where crypto trading happens, but it shouldn’t dictate the tools you use. Whether your exchange account sits on a global platform or an EU-, US- or country-regulated entity, Skyrexio’s bots, copy trading, smart orders and portfolio tracking work the same way across all of them.
Create your Skyrexio account and connect your exchange — global or regional — in under a minute. Explore everything the platform offers on our features page and pick a plan that fits on the pricing page.
